The pen itself is great functionally: built tough, fits G2 refills perfectly, and, most importantly, I can write in turquoise without a fountain pen. But the problem for me comes with how it looks: if you love raw aluminum, you'll love this pen. It's big. I'm a big guy, but this pen is thick diameter-wise and length-wise. That means a LOT of the same color: raw aluminum. I thought that I would like it, but I don't really. I still use it because it's really comfortable and usable despite the size, and having a bolt-mechanism means fidgeting, but I don't like the color. The color of the aluminum is brighter in person, and more sparkly.

Also it might be an issue for some that the tip of the refill barely sticks out of the tip of the pen.

Very cool pen, with a raw mechanical look. Comfortable size, and the bolt mechanism seems very robust. Even though it's designed for G2 refills, it seems like it would be easily converted to other styles. First Karas Kustom, but definitely won't be my last.

This is a great pen. Very sturdy, but not too heavy. I bought it for my father for Christmas, but I'm using it for a few months just to break it in. I've been using Zebra Sarasa refills; he's a Uniball Signo 207 man. This pen fits both, as well as a plethora of other refills and comes with a standard Pilot G2 refill (also nice).

I work at a school, and this Bolt has been dropped and abused by students for a bit. So far there's been no scuffs or marks on the pen body. I definitely recommend this pen!

I really like the craftsmanship, however, it fatigues my hand due to the weight.

Addendum to original review: put a drop of 3 in 1 oil in the top mechanism & the click mechanism can be engaged instantly & silently :D. It's now perfect! Glides more perfectly than an olympic figure skater.
